Today is a good day. Today when it comes to marriage (in the USA) we are all seen equal. Today, FINALLY, marriage is about love and not gender or sexual orientation. Today you can marry the one you love in the United States of America. Today, a man can marry a woman, a man can marry a man, a woman can marry a woman… Today, LOVE WINS!
I sincerely hope that this marks the beginning of a change towards equality not just in the USA but in the whole world. A change that will recognize love over gender or sexual orientation; and gives marriage to all who live their lives in family, devotion, fidelity and love.
Love wins today! Let’s celebrate today!
There is still more work to be done, but today the world got a bit better…
“The Court now holds that same-sex couples may exercise the fundamental right to marry. No longer may this liberty be denied to them.”
“No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.”
